Sarah wanted to organize a special surprise party for her brother Tom's thirtieth birthday. She had been planning it for weeks and had invited all his close friends and colleagues. The hardest part was keeping it a secret because they lived in the same apartment.
On the day of the party, Sarah pretended she was going to the gym, but she actually went to buy balloons, snacks, and a huge chocolate cake. While Tom was at work, she decorated the living room with colorful streamers. She felt nervous that he might come home early and ruin the surprise.
At seven o'clock, the guests arrived and hid behind the furniture. When Tom unlocked the door, the room was completely dark. He turned on the lights, and everyone shouted, 'Happy Birthday!' Tom was shocked and dropped his keys in surprise.
He was exhausted from a long day at the office, but his mood changed instantly. He hugged Sarah and thanked everyone for coming. They spent the rest of the evening eating delicious food, listening to music, and laughing together.
